I kinda like the extra spice that translating added to the joke here. Originally it was “doesn’t anyone just dress as a clown anymore?” and Jonathan mentioning someone dressing up as a local D list comedian, but I figured since Halloween, unlike Purim, has a scary theme, a ghost might work better, and the Michael Jackson line just sort of fell into place.
