I don’t know if this is as much of an issue in other places as it is over here, but Tel Aviv is practically notorious for nothing making it long over here unless it’s

1. A clothing store

2. A falafel place

3. A coffee shop

Anything else? Assume they will run for no longer than two years, and that is a rare, best case scenario.

I am currently trying to think about stores on the main street by my house that were there three years ago, I can think of maybe one.

 

This particular comic was drawn after my favorite comic book shop closed down and was replaced by a pop up shop. Which then closed down and was replaced by a gift shop.

And fittingly enough to the spirit of the comic – two months later the comic shop reopened somewhere else on some other short lived business’ remains.

 

I once wanted to write a tour guide for Tel Aviv but I knew that there’s no point, because it’ll be irrelevant as soon as it is published.
